Court orders Sami to vacate hand over house to ex-wife

The Bombay High Court on Monday ordered the Pakistani singer to move out of the flats and hand those over to his ex-wife Sabah Galadari. A division bench of Justice AS Oka and Justice SC Gupte struck down an order of a single judge, and upheld an earlier family court order of 2010 which had granted Galadari the use of the disputed flats.

LOS ANGELES: Nine movies including works by Palestinian, Danish and Hong Kong filmmakers have been shortlisted for best foreign language Oscar, organizers announced Friday.

But films left out included Saudi Arabia's first ever candidate and Pakistan's first entry in five decades, while an Oscar-winning Iranian director also failed to make the cut.

Films by Belgian, Bosnian, Cambodian, German, Hungarian and Italian directors are also on the shortlist.

Unknown assailants shot dead Mubin Malik, former husband of renowned film actress Anjuman , and injured his 22-year old daughter and an employee in Defence area of the city on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

According to reports, the armed men opened fire on Malik’s vehicle and managed to flee, leaving him dead and his daughter and employee injured.

The deceased was a 21-grade Income Tax officer. The dead and injured were taken to a nearby hospital. Anjuman has also reached the medical facility.

“Zinda Bhaag” submitted for Oscar consideration

The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has selected “Zinda Bhaag” as the first Pakistani film in over fifty years to be submitted for Oscar consideration in the 'Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 86th Academy Awards.

The film has already bagged four awards in three categories at the Mosaic MISAFF festival held in August this year in Toronto.
Apart from ZInda Bhaag, three other films were submitted to the committee for Oscar consideration including Chambeli, Josh and Lamha (Seedlings). The movie was selected by means of a ballot concluded by the Committee members.
Films selected by each country's Academy selection committee are then submitted for screening, shortlisting and voting with the official Oscar nominees announced at a later date.
