Mahira Khan, born Mahira Hafeez Khan, on December 21, 1982, is a
Pakistani film and tv actress who started her career as VJ. She has
worked with MTV Pakistan and Aag TV as VJ before moving on to her acting
career. Her first break in the film industry came in the critically
acclaimed film Bol. She is most popular for her character Khirad Ihsan
opposite Fawad Khan in Humsafar Drama.
She is also known by her nicknames of Maria, Mena and Mairu.
Since June 2012, Mahira started working in Shehr-e-Zaat opposite Mohib Mirza and Mikaal Zulfiqar which was launched as a prime time show on Hum TV. She received a lot of appreciation & recognition for her role of "Falak" in the serial and it made her one of the best actresses of Pakistani television. Shehr-e-Zaat ran successfully for two years with consistent good TRPs. She made a cameo appearance in Urdu 1 serial Coke Kahani.
Biography
Khan was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She received her primary education from Foundation Public School, Karachi, and went on to Santa Monica Community College in Los Angeles for higher education. She met with Ali Askari at Indus TV studios during her vacations and fell in love. They married in 2007 and have a son named "Azlaan".She is also known by her nicknames of Maria, Mena and Mairu.
Career
Mahira first appeared in ARY Digital serial Neeyat alongside Humayun Saeed, Ahsan Khan and Deepti Gupta. Then she was hired to portray Khirad Ehsan in the TV serial drama Humsafar opposite Fawad Afzal Khan and Naveen Waqar. The drama was a major hit in Pakistan and she was praised for her performance by both critics and fans.Since June 2012, Mahira started working in Shehr-e-Zaat opposite Mohib Mirza and Mikaal Zulfiqar which was launched as a prime time show on Hum TV.
