A tragic incident has been reported in Lahore where a woman, seeking refuge after a domestic dispute, became the victim of an alleged gang rape. The woman had traveled to Lahore from Muridke following an argument at home, only to face a horrific ordeal. Shalimar police have responded swiftly, apprehending one of the alleged perpetrators involved in the incident.
According to police reports, a rickshaw driver, under the guise of offering shelter, took the woman to the house of his friend, identified as Haneef. However, after the rickshaw driver departed, Haneef allegedly restrained the woman with chains, holding her captive. He then reportedly summoned his friend, Kareem, and both individuals are accused of collectively assaulting the woman.
The courageous victim managed to seize an opportunity to dial the police helpline, 15, alerting authorities to her dire situation. Following her call, police immediately registered a case against Haneef, who has since been taken into custody. Investigations are actively underway, and special teams have been formed to locate and arrest the absconding suspect, Kareem.
SP Civil Lines, Munaza Karamat, reiterated the police's firm commitment to justice, stating that those involved in violence and sexual assault against women will not be granted any leniency. She assured the public that the fugitive accomplice would be apprehended and brought to justice without delay.
