ENGLISH TITLE: West Indies Announce Test Squad for Bangladesh Tour, Joseph and Hope Sidelined URDU TITLE: ENGLISH ARTICLE: The West Indies cricket board has revealed its squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, set to commence later this month. The team will be without key players Alzarri Joseph and Shai Hope, while welcoming some fresh faces. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been withdrawn from the squad due to medical concerns. Cricket West Indies confirmed that following extensive medical examinations and expert consultations, the decision was made to keep Joseph out of the long format. This measure aims to mitigate the risk of injury that could arise from bowling continuous long spells. All-rounder Kemo Paul has been named as his replacement. White-ball captain Shai Hope, despite his excellent recent form, has been rested. This decision was taken to manage his workload, given his consistent participation across all three formats, ensuring he remains fresh for crucial future assignments. Among the new inclusions is 23-year-old batter Kevin Wickham, who has earned his maiden Test call-up. Wickham caught the selectors' attention with a remarkable performance in the West Indies Championship, where he scored three consecutive centuries representing Barbados. Additionally, opening batter John Campbell makes his return to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury. The series will kick off with the first Test in Dhaka on October 28, followed by the second Test in Sylhet starting November 5. This tour marks West Indies' final commitment in the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle. SOURCE URL: https://www.express.pk/story/2838105/alzarri-joseph-shai-hope-to-miss-wis-two-test-series-in-bangladesh-2838105/
