The statement came during a hearing concerning a petition to close down the said account. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir presided over the proceedings stemming from a plea filed by Ghulam Murtaza. Barrister Gohar appeared in court personally, accompanied by PTI lawyers Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry and Shamssa Kiyani, as well as NCCIA officials. During the hearing, Justice Tahir inquired why Barrister Gohar had appeared in person when only a written response was expected. In his reply, Barrister Gohar explicitly stated, "PTI does not claim this account." The PTI Chairman then requested additional time to submit a comprehensive written response, citing evolving circumstances. Justice Tahir granted the request, instructing Barrister Gohar to present his arguments in writing. The court subsequently adjourned the hearing until November 23. Speaking to the media outside the High Court, Barrister Gohar reiterated the party's position, asserting that PTI has no connection with certain "suspicious accounts." He claimed these steps were taken to replace the entire bureaucracy and are now being used to dismantle a political party, which he believes undermines democracy. Furthermore, Barrister Gohar stated that the party has lost contact with Sohail Afridi since October 11, and also with its MPAs and the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly. Responding to an invitation for dialogue from Bilawal Bhutto, Barrister Gohar expressed skepticism, remarking that "hollow talks and claims lead nowhere." He recalled past negotiation experiences, suggesting that previous talks had led to their government being removed.
