During the hearing, Chief Justice Neelum engaged with Director General of Anti-Corruption, Sohail Zafar Chattha, raising concerns about the increasing burden of cases attributed to the department's inquiry and investigation methods. The court has requested the DG to provide a mechanism for the deputation policy concerning inquiries and investigations, along with a report detailing potential amendments to existing laws. DG Chattha acknowledged the challenges faced by Anti-Corruption, noting that while each of its ten regions has a legal wing, the department struggles with inquiries and investigations. He explained that a prior system of preliminary scrutiny before formal inquiry has been discontinued, and he was unaware of when this change took place.
