The incident, which took place within the jurisdiction of the Steel Town police station in Malir district, has heightened concerns among the local business community. CCTV footage from the scene captured three of the robbers inside the shop, actively collecting expensive handsets. While two of the culprits had their faces masked, one individual's face was clearly visible. The perpetrators gained entry by breaking the shop's lock in Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase 1. The shop owner promptly reported the significant loss to the police. Muhammad Minhaj Gulfam, President of KAMIDA, strongly condemned the robbery, expressing deep apprehension over the rising incidents targeting traders and shopkeepers in Karachi. He highlighted that the police force appears to be failing in its duty to provide adequate protection to the business community, leading to widespread unease among merchants in Gulshan-e-Hadeed whose hard-earned capital is increasingly vulnerable. Gulfam urged high-ranking police officials, including the Inspector General of Sindh, to take immediate and decisive action regarding the robbery in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced security measures for traders.
