This 247th meeting is focusing on a diverse agenda encompassing religious, family, and legal issues. A significant proposal under consideration is the establishment of special tribunals dedicated to handling inheritance disputes. The council is also reviewing a clarification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding the correct spelling notification for the revered names "Muhammad" and "Ahmad." Another crucial item on the agenda involves discussing the Sharia aspects related to the legal timeframe for recovering past maintenance (nan nafqah) for minor children and wives. This particular discussion stems from a request for Sharia opinion by the Ministry of Law and Justice concerning the application of Article 120 of the Limitation Act, 1908. The matter of maintenance recovery is also being examined in light of a recent judgment from the Lahore High Court. Furthermore, the Council of Islamic Ideology will be informed about the Federal Sharia Court's decision to uphold the existing ban on the publication of books by the Qadiani community.
