ENGLISH TITLE: Karachi Experiences Surge in Heat as Winds Shift Direction URDU TITLE: ENGLISH ARTICLE: Residents of Karachi are bracing for a period of intensified heat, with temperatures expected to rise significantly over the next two days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) attributes this change to a shift in wind patterns, as northwesterly winds originating from Balochistan begin to sweep across the city. Forecasters predict that the maximum temperature today could reach an uncomfortable 39 degrees Celsius. The heat is expected to persist into Wednesday, with temperatures potentially climbing to 38 degrees Celsius. By noon today, the city had already recorded a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a noticeable drop in humidity to 38 percent. Currently, northwesterly winds are blowing at a gentle pace of 4 kilometers per hour. This period of elevated temperatures aligns with earlier predictions from the PMD, which had indicated that October, much like September, would likely be warmer than average. The region has also experienced a lack of rainfall this season, primarily due to the prevailing El Niño phenomenon. SOURCE URL: https://www.express.pk/story/2837901/karachi-sees-rising-temperatures-as-wind-direction-changes-2837901/
